COMMUNIQUE ABOUT THE 17th ANNUAL MEETING OF THE INTERNATIONAL CHE GUEVARA FOUNDATION (Los Angeles, UCLA, October 17, 2015)
To the members of the Committee
of the International Che Guevara Foundation
Dear Friends,
I waited so long before writing you after the meeting in Los Angeles, because I was waiting for a positive answer from Tuxpan in México, where I think and I hope we shall have the next meeting (the 18th) in November 2016.
About the meeting in Los Angeles you will read a report in the next Cuaderno (number 10). I can only say that it took place on the 17th of October in the UCLA (University of California Los Angeles) and everything went as it had been scheduled. Which means that it was perfect in every aspect. This result was due to the preparatory work of David Kunzle (professor emeritus of that same University).
We heard reports by Maurice Zeitlin, Luiz Bernardo Pericás, Margaret Randall, Christine Sellin and Becca Wilson, Michael Casey, Fabian Wagmister, David Kunzle and Roberto Massari. Richard Harris made several interventions and in general there was a good atmosphere for debate (including some «hot» moments). I think the theoretical level was high and very mature, thanks also to the fact that almost all the speakers were authors of several books on the topics they were presenting. Personally I consider it as one of the best meetings of the Guevara's Foundation.
With time we are improving… (something which doesn't happen so often).
A night party concluded the encuentro.
Un abrazo para todos y todas
Roberto [Massari]
